• We are located on the A1017 in the quiet village of Great Yeldham.
• The nearest village shop and post office is a 5 minute walk, the town of Halstead is a 15 minute drive.
• The well known designer village with cinema, swimming pool and shopping centre is a 20 minute drive.
• The nearest bus stop is a 5 minute walk and the nearest main line train station is
• Free­Port Braintree, a 20 minute drive.
• There are a list of recommended taxi companies in your room brochure or available at reception.
• Brochures and menus can be available in large print if required.
• We regret we do not have facilities to prepare documents in Braille.
• Our website provides pictures of rooms and facilities along with further information of services we provide.
• We have a green policy and ask our guest to assist us when possible to help us preserve our environment.

• There is a large well lit off road car park with areas of both tarmac and gravel.
• The car park has a kerb of 10cm around the entrance of the main building where reception and the restaurant is located.
• We would be happy to assist any guest from parking/car park to entrance to room.
• Check in time is from 4pm-11pm (other times can be arranged). Please advise estimated time of arrival.

• The main entrance is located central to the main building.
• There is one step down 16cm located in the entrance lobby as you enter the main building.
• Tall guests beware. The second entrance door height in the entrance lobby is 172cm. Most low areas in the main building are padded though not all.
• The reception desk is located on the right hand side of the main bar and is 120cm high.

• There are 5 accommodation blocks entrances with Yale key lock.
• Door widths are 85cm.
• Block 1 has a 2 steps 17cm & 18cm threshold, block 2 has a 2cm step, block 3 has a 16cm step, block 4 has a 10cm step and block 5 has a 2cm step in their entrance door.
• On the left or right hand side of the block entrance is a push button light switch, which is on a timer.
• The block entrances are spacious with carpet floor finishing.
• There are 2 blocks (3 & 4) with two flights of stairs, 1 block (5) with one flight of stairs and 1 block (1) with three flights of stairs in the entrance lobbies with step heights of 18cm. These lead to rooms located on the first floor. Stairs are carpeted.
• Room doors are Yale key locked.
• The only phones available are in the guest’s rooms or in reception in the main block.
• Fire call point and extinguishers are on the left or right hand side when exiting lobby.

• The ladies public toilet is in the lounge/bar area and is on the same level. The toilet height is 40cm. The hand basin height is 80cm.
• The floor is laid to carpet.
• The gentlemen’s toilet is in the lounge/bar area with one 14cm step up. The toilet height is 40cm. The hand basin height is 80cm.
• The floor is laid to quarry tile.
• Due to planning restraints and period features, we do not have a public disabled toilet or baby changing unit.

• The White Hart Inn has an intimate conference room, The Garden Room for up to 30 delegates located in the main building.
• The Essex Barn can host conferences, meetings and banqueting for up to 200 delegates and has disabled facilities.
• Delegates can use the large main off road car park

• The restaurant is located in the main building either side of the main bar.
• The bar is on the same level and the dining room has 2 steps 14cm and 12cm.
• The bar has a brick and carpeted floor with wall lighting set low.
• The dining room has a polished solid oak floor section and a carpeted section with chandelier and wall lighting set low.
• All seating is genuine antique with various styles of chairs with or without arms.
• Isles are spacious with a variety of original antique tables.
• The bar tables are not table clothed due to their natural beauty but the dining room tables are clothed due to the level of service we provide
• Menus are typed in a clear font at 16mm and large print can be made available on request.
• All dietary requirements can be catered for on request.
• The restaurant is laid with finest Villeroy & Boch crockery, Guy Degrenne cutlery and fine glassware.
• Al fresco dining is available on our flag stone patio seating area.
• Picnics are also allowed in the grounds.

• Laundry facilities are not available on the premises but there is a launderette 5 minute drive in Sible Hedingham.

• The nearest shop is Nisa which is a 10 minute walk.
• The nearest post office is a 10 minute walk.
• The well known Free Port designer village and Braintree Town is a 20 minute drive or 45 minute bus journey.

Free Port Braintree offers the nearest swimming pool and leisure facilities a 15 minute drive.

There is central heating throughout the 13 rooms. Each bedroom has thermostatic control on the wall. Each room has a hospitality tray with a variety of teas, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, filtered water and biscuits. Every room has a hair dryer, bathrobes, slippers, flat screen free view TV, internet connection, WIFI, wardrobe, dressing table, desk lamp, bedside cabinet, bedside lamp, upholstered chair, luggage rack.
Average bed height is 65cm.
All bedrooms are laid to carpet and en­suites to non slip tile flooring.
All bedrooms and en­suites have LED down lighting with shaver points.
All first floor rooms are accessed from ground level by means of 1, 2 or 3 flights of stairs. Each flight consists of 7 to 11 steps with a spacious mid landing. The step heights measuring 18cm and the staircase widths are 82cm.

Block 1

Room 1 is on the first floor, double bedroom is 4.3m by 3.7m and the en­suite 2.3m by 1.8. It has a double bed.
Room 2 is on ground floor, double bedroom is 4.1m by 3.7m and the en­suite 1.75m by 2.3m. It has a double bed.
Juxta Clare Suite is on the first floor, double bedroom is 3.7m by 6.25m and en­suite 2.2m by 1.6m. It has zipped single beds which enable twin or super king. 2 extra steps off landing into room.

Block 2

Room 3 is ground floor, twin/double bedroom is 4.5m by 3.7m and en­suite 2.5m by 2m and is fitted to disabled regulations.

Block 3

Room 4 is ground floor, single bedroom is 4.3m by 2.4m and ensuite 1m by 3m. It has a single bed.
Room 5 is first floor, double room is 4.3m by 4m and en­suite is 1.9m by 2.35m. It has a double bed.
Room 6 is ground floor, double room is 4.3m by 4m and en­suite is 1.9m by 2.7m. It has a king four poster bed.

Block 4

Room 7 is ground floor, double room is 4.3m by 3.5m and ensuite is 1.8m by 2.75m. It has a double bed.
Hedingham Suite is ground floor, double room is 4.3m by 3.6m and en­suite with bath is 2.8m by 3m. It has a super king bed. This is our bridal suite.
Toppesfield Suite is first floor, family room is 4.2m by 6.7m and en­suite is 2m by 2.3m. It has a king bed plus a double sofa bed.
Room 10 is first floor, double room is 4.3m by 3.6m and en­suite is 1m by 2.5m. It has a double bed.

Block 5

Yeldham Suite is first floor, double room is 4.6m by 5.5m, en­suite is 2.1m by 2.8m. It has a king bed.
Gosfield Suite is ground floor, double room is 4.5m by 2.45m, en-suite is 2.1m by 2.6m. It has a super king bed.
Bathroom, Shower­room & WC (En­suite or Shared)
All rooms have their own en­suite facilities including shower, toilet, hand basin, mirror, shaver point and heated towel rail
Hedingham Suite has bath and shower.
Room 3 is laid out to disability regulation with large shower, mirror and wall hand rails.
All en­suites are wet rooms.
All sink heights are 83cm, Room 3 sink height is 73cm.
Room 3 toilet height is 48cm and all other toilet heights are 44cm.
All en­suite floors are laid with tiles and slip matt available in all rooms.
All en­suite are well lit and ventilated with motion sensors.

Evacuation procedures are provided in all rooms located on back of the room door.
